  • OMEGA can take the credit for supporting / partnering with small and medium scale enterprises, small traders who are in and around Visakhapatnam, Vijayanagaram and complete North Andhra Pradesh in enabling them to strive towards excellence in their business. Entrepreneurs approach OMEGA with their problems or projects and OMEGAns (Student Members) solve their problem or help them in growing their business. A nominal fee for consulting is charged; which makes OMEGA the only earning forum of IBM. It provides a platform for interaction between students and local entrepreneurs.







  • In this process, students get an exposure to the industry and also the problems faced by the industry LIVE. The students also seek guidance from the faculty members for solving the issues. The knowledge of the students is not just limited to academics. Few students at IBM are with work experience in diverse fields such as Consulting, Information Technology, FMCG, Supply Chain, Retail, Heavy Engineering, Chemical and much more. The combined knowledge of academics, work experience and the expertise of the faculties are the key factors which add value to the solutions OMEGA provides. The projects undertaken by OMEGA ranges from various operational issues to strategic decisions.

Face - to - Face
It's an event conducted by OMEGA to bring the students in touch with entrepreneurs. Some of the established entrepreneurs in Visakhapatnam and North Andhra Pradesh are invited to come and share their experience with the students. There is a dialogue between the two, where the entrepreneur speaks about the challenges that he/she faced in setting up his business and the students ask questions about the intricacies of the business. This event is aimed at exposing the students to the ground realities of setting up a business and to make them realize that failures are only stepping stones to ultimate success.

Industrial Exposure
OMEGA sources projects for the PGDM students to complete their Phase 1 of Management In Practice (MIP). It involves a 2 day visit to a small / medium scale manufacturing industry in and around Visakhapatnam. The purpose of this activity is to enable the students understand and appreciate the efforts an entrepreneur puts in for building and running a business. Small and medium scale organizations are chosen so that the students can have a complete overview of all the organization's functional activities which might be not possible in case of a large organization.

The students are supposed to observe and ask questions about the various functions of the organization in tandem with the theory studied in the institute. They are expected to look at the core and supporting business processes of the organization, about the market dynamics the organization faces, how the organization is designed in terms in terms of strategy and layout, its structure and its IT functions. Thereafter, the students can suggest some measures to improve the productivity and the performance of the organization. And hence in addition to students, this activity in turn benefits the SMEs also.

After the completion of the visit the students are required to submit a report to the institute and the entrepreneur whose organization they visited. This report acts as a summary of the learnings, experiences and suggestions (if any) of the SME visit.

Meetings/Seminars on Entrepreneurship
A one day event organized by OMEGA, to bring together the entrepreneurs of the Visakhapatnam and North Andhra Pradesh region to discuss important issues and opportunities concerning organisations. It provides a platform for interaction between IBM and the SMEs (Small, Medium Scale Entrepreneurs) of the region.
